A plane crashed in the middle of a Brisbane airport on Wednesday, killing the pilot and three passengers.
The pilot was killed and two passengers were injured in the accident.
The plane was travelling from Perth to Brisbane Airport, when it crashed in a field on the outskirts of the airport at about 11:20am local time (1420 GMT), Queensland Police said.
“It was a very sad day for Queensland Airport,” Queensland Airport Minister Mike Pezzullo said in a statement.
He said it was an “isolated incident”.
“I would like to express my condolences to the families of the deceased and their loved ones,” Pezzollo said.
“The Queensland Government is working with Queensland Police and the coroner on an investigation into this tragic incident.”
A woman was taken to hospital for a minor cut to her leg, and the other three passengers, who were not on the plane, were released.
A Queensland Police spokeswoman said a passenger who was travelling on the aircraft was uninjured.
She said the pilot had been working for the airline since September and was part of the “management team”.
The aircraft was en route from Perth, to Brisbane, when the crash happened.
Queensland Police said it had been assisting Queensland Police with their investigation.
This is an ongoing investigation.
We can confirm the plane crash occurred in the Brisbane Airport and the pilot has been killed.
