The Spurs are looking to add to their backline options by signing defender Kadeem Francis on loan from Aston Villa.
The 24-year-old was one of the players who left Villa in the summer transfer window and Spurs have been interested in him since.
Spurs have signed Victor Wanyama, Tom Carroll, Moussa Dembele and Kieran Trippier on loan this season, with the former all likely to depart before the end of the season.
Francis, who has spent time on loan at Manchester City, Southampton and Leicester, was on loan with Tottenham from Villa last season.
The move has been met with mixed reception on social media and with the club struggling to make up ground on the relegation battle, with a win over Newcastle on Saturday the only thing that appears to have lifted their spirits.
